TREE HOUSE IN THE ARDENNES
Oh so cosy! This year I celebrated NYE in a tiny little tree house right in the middle of nowhere. Or actually, in the middle of The Ardennes, Belgium. The most romantic place I've ever been.
In a valley, next to the Ourthe river, you find Les Cabanes de Rensiwez. Several wooden cabins are situated alongside the river and up the hill. Each cabin has it's own cosy design and offers a lot of privacy. I've always had a thing for thee houses, but actually never slept in one. So the moment I found out about this tree house, it just felt like the perfect place to enjoy a romantic weekend (we celebrated our 10-year anniversary here). The tree house, called 'La Perchée', is only 16m2 big and offers a bedstead, a tiny kitchen, fireplace and -most imported-: two Nordic bathtubs! One next to the fireplace and one outside on the veranda, facing the flowing river.
For a winter getaway, it's the perfect place to relax, enjoy a warm bath, curl up next to the fire and to just escape from the world. You'll be surrounded by nature, so go out for a walk and breathe in the fresh air. During summer you can also enjoy a canoe trip on the river and BBQ at the outdoor fireplace.
Les Cabanes de Rensiwez offers a small grocery store where you can find everything you need. Every morning you can pick up a breakfast basket with everything you wish for (fresh croissants, bread, cheese, local meats, fresh orange juice, eggs, DIY chocolate milk....). So you don't even have to leave the grounds to fully enjoy your stay!
